Who's We?

What's this all about?

The urge to violence is a natural, and sometimes necessary response to the inevitable presence of conflict in our lives. Nevertheless, the true calling of the warrior spirit is to build, preserve, and protect peace among all peoples. The methods of violence are, at best, temporary resorts to avoid more terrible outcomes; and at worst, the very thing a warrior should be battling against. Better methods mean less harm to all, and greater potential for building healthy societies and healthy relationships.

As surgeons seek to cut less, and as healers seek gentler medicines, we in Peace Dojos seek to refine the warrior arts for improved techniques which affirm life.

International Aiki Peace Week is an initiative of Aiki-Extensions, set to coincide with the United Nations International Day of Peace, September 21, 2010.
